The next time you read about a 20-year-old billionaire, think about this.

Have you ever wondered how Mark Zuckerberg, among others, made it so early in life? Becoming a billionaire at the young age of 23? That sounds like it's from the movies, right? I can say without hesitation that every parent only wishes the same, or better, for their children. Well, the next time you think like that, stop there for a moment. Has your child ever come up to you with a new skill they recently acquired and were extremely excited about? Like if they went through a major Lego phase and then preached about wanting to become a builder. Or if they really enjoyed that surgery kit and saw themselves as a heart surgeon. Well, every 1 in 5 parents is likely to subtly invalidate this desire and think of it as just a "phase". But, did you know that the average age for a child's first "This is what I want to be" moment is around 5 and a half years? It is no secret that children are so eager to grow up. But sometimes, what they so eagerly desire in the future is to be able to live their life as the person that their 8-year-old self could only have dreamed of. It is essential that parents open up to ways in which they can encourage and widen their child's resources and exposure to their interests. Studies also reveal that a child is more ambitious during the ages of 7-9 than as a young adult or pre-teenager. It is time to bring about a change in the seriousness a parent brings forth when their child talks career. It is only fair to give them their shot at being a new generation Zuckerberg, right?
